Description

This campaign, launched by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), encourages patients and providers to discuss the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).

This Web site includes the following:

  • For patients:
    • Tips to talk to your health care provider
    • Patient packet
      • Backgrounder: The backgrounder provides information about the importance of health care providers and their patients talking about CAM
      • TELL tip sheet: This sheet provides tips for talking with health care providers about CAM use
      • Patient wallet card: This card will help to keep track of all medications, including CAM therapies and is a handy reference during visits to a patient’s health care provider
      • Get the Facts: Are You Considering Using CAM? This fact sheet will assist patients in their decisionmaking about using CAM
  • For health care providers:
    • Tips to talk with your patients
    • Toolkit
      • Backgrounder: The backgrounder provides information about the importance of health care providers and their patients talking about CAM
      • Posters: Posters are 12.5” by 19.5” and are intended to be hung in exam and waiting rooms
      • ASK tip sheets (for providers): This sheet provides tips for talking with patients about CAM use
      • TELL tip sheets (for patients): This sheet provides tips for talking with health care providers about CAM use
      • Drop-in newsletter articles: These articles can be customized to be included in an organization’s newsletter or Web site

      • Resource post cards: These postcards provide information about online resources available through the NCCAM Web site
