Team Strategy and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS ®) is an evidence-based teamwork system aimed at optimizing patient outcomes by improving communication and other teamwork skills. This multimedia resource kit helps organizations plan, conduct, and evaluate its team training program. It includes ready-to-use materials and training curricula necessary to integrate teamwork principles into all areas of a health care system.

This kit includes the following components:

  • Core TeamSTEPPS training curriculum materials
    • An instructor guide that explains how to conduct a pretraining assessment of an organization’s training needs, how to present the information effectively, and how to manage organizational change
    • Nine video vignettes about how failures in teamwork and communication can place patients in jeopardy and how successful teams can work to improve patient outcomes
    • A pocket guide that summarizes TeamSTEPPS principles in a portable, easy-to-use format
    • PowerPoint presentations that convey basic TeamSTEPPS principles
    • A poster that can be used to announce TeamSTEPPS activities in a heath care organization
