Shared Decision Making Project


The Shared Decision Making (SDM) Project works with sites to demonstrate and evaluate the use of shared decisionmaking and patient decision aids. The project aims to explore the opportunities and challenges perceived and experienced by providers, patients, purchasers, and payers around the implementation of shared decisionmaking protocols in fee-for-service settings.

The tools and products developed under the SDM Project include the following:

  • SDM implementation summary chart
  • SDM implementation manual
  • High-level learnings and recommendations
  • Oral presentations
  • Poster presentations
