Description

This interactive tool allows users to generate a customized report card for the health plans they want to know about. NCQA’s Health Plan Report Card has results on hundreds of health plans that care for commercially insured individuals and Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, including health maintenance organization/point of service (HMO/POS) and preferred provider organization (PPO) plans.

Users can search for health plans using the following criteria:

  • State
  • ZIP code
  • Health plan name
  • Health plan type (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid)
  • Types of coverage (HMO/POS, PPO)

For each health plan, the report card provides the following information:

  • Plan details
    • Type of product/product line
    • Ratings
      • Access and service
      • Qualified providers
      • Staying healthy
      • Getting better
      • Living with illness
      • Accreditation outcome
    • Plan description
      • Plan names
      • Counties served
      • Number of members enrolled
    • Accreditation details
    • Behavioral health information (if available)
    • Contact information
  • Living with illness details—Performance compared to other health plans nationally in these areas:
    • Asthma
    • Diabetes
    • Heart disease
    • Mental health
  • Distinction in NCQA’s Quality Plus content areas (if available)
    • Distinction in member connections
    • Distinction in care management and health improvement
