Description

This set of clinician tools helps physicians quickly assess the health literacy of patients and how much they understand information to make appropriate health decisions. The tools can be used in multiple settings such as hospitals or physician offices, or for research studies.

The following tools measure a patient’s understanding:

  • Rapid estimate of adult literacy in medicine—short form (REALM-SF)
  • Short assessment of health literacy for Spanish adults (SAHLSA-50)
