Guided by a framework that regards adoption as a process, rather than an event, the tool is based on a modified version of the core concepts in Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations (Rogers, 2003). For the purposes of this Guide, an innovation is a new way of doing things to improve health care delivery. An innovation may be a product, a service, a process, a system, an organizational structure, or a business model. If it is new to your organization, it is an innovation, even if it has been around for a while in other contexts.
