Description

This slide presentation presents the practice parameters developed from the guideline, Practice Parameter: Immunotherapy for Guillain-Barré Syndrome. The objective of the guideline is to provide an evidence-based statement to guide physicians in the management of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS).

This presentation addresses the following clinical questions:

  • Does initial immunotherapy hasten recovery from GBS symptoms?
  • Are there special issues in the management of children with GBS?

Also included are suggestions for future research as well as a summary of the American Academy of Neurology recommendations for immunotherapy for GBS.
